The Hispanic population is growing in leaps and bounds in the United
States. According to the 2000 United States Census, the Hispanic
population made up 12.5% of the population or 35.3 million people in
2000. As of July 2006 that percentage had changed to 14.8% or 44.3
million people. The Hispanic population is expected to grow to 15.5%
or 47.8 million people by 2010. It is likely that the number will
exceed the estimate. In Louisiana alone there are areas of the state
that have a Hispanic population of between 2.5% and 9.9% . As of
2000, 9.2% of Louisiana residents spoke a language other than
English in their home. The majority of these people speak Spanish.
After Hurricane Katrina the non-English speaking population has
increased in Louisiana, causing the need for translation and
interpretation to increase. Don’t lose business because you don’t
have your information translated into Spanish or because you don’t
have anyone who speaks Spanish. Spanish for NOLA is here to help
solve all of your translation and interpretation needs. |
